The Digital Fortresses Project is hosting a webinar series where we hope to learn from and with researchers and activists working on understanding and exposing digital infrastructures that underpin and uphold imperialist/capitalist systems across different sectors and geographies, and how we can collectively resist them.

This series aims to shed specific light on the importance of an infrastructural analysis - with each session not only bringing together people working on different issues and through different mediums but also making space for specific contributions on the importance of infrastructure. Our hope is that each session will allow for participants to learn together with/from comrades -researchers, organisers, artists, journalists, worker collectives, technologists – whilst collectively mapping chokepoints in and building strategies of resistance to these digital infrastructures.

This session aims to speak to the hidden and/or invisibilised sites, labour, and communities integral to the making and upholding of digital infrastructures – as well as their dismantling. Learning from and with worker collectives, community organisers, researchers, and journalists, working to visible and mobilise around submarine cables, supply chains, surveillance networks, and indispensable labour, this session also hopes to bring to the table a rich discussion on lessons in building alternative infrastructures.
